(A storm at home)

 

This zine consists of a poem that I wrote about the experience of domestic violence and then illustrated.

Domestic abuse and violence against women within relationships is a massive issue. In Germany a man tries to kill his current or ex partner every day and every third day a man succeeds in killing his current or ex partner. This work is supposed to be a contrast to the statistics and numbers and data, this is the woman's story, her experience. With this work i want to be hopeful and shine a light on the issue and give the victims of domestic abuse a voice.

Er liebt sie liebt sie nicht                                        He loves her loves her not

behauptet aus Liebe tut er das                              says his love for her is sacred

doch die Spuren auf ihrer Haut                              but the traces on her skin

sehen genauso aus wie Hass                                  look a lot more like hatred
